My first 15 years within the industry was spent on the contracting side during which time I obtained a B.Sc. in quantity surveying. I held several senior commercial management positions including the role of senior QS on a billion dollar motorway project in Asia, before moving into Consultancy with JDA in 2001. I like to think that I have fairly no nonsense approach and pride myself on doing my very best for clients and their projects. I believe that the wide experience gained from working for both contracting and consultancy organisations has been a huge asset when identifying and advising clients of project risks and solutions.
It is almost impossible to choose a favourite as I have been fortunate enough to have had the opportunity to work on an incredible variety of projects all with their own unique challenges and opportunities. Whilst it consumed my life for 3 years, my favourite JDA project is probably a cluster of projects where I acted as Contract Administrator on Center Parcs “Sun” projects where we delivered over 400 new lodges, 4 new Aqua Sana’s and various restaurants and sports facilities on their 4 UK villages.
I love all sport be it playing or spectating, travelling and finding destinations off the beaten track. I am a keen fell walker and, having conquered the Yorkshire 3 peaks several times, I completed the coast to coast walk in 2015. The walking helps burn the calories consumed when indulging in my passion for real ale. I am a member of my local golf club, but an occasional golfer who has a handicap 20 shots higher than my 18 year old son!
